Welcome to the ProsePoint blog.
Wednesday, December 24, 2008

The ProsePoint staff will be on holidays over the Christmas and New Year period and into the first week of January. During this time, emails and other correspondence (ie. on Launchpad) will be intermittent and slow. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

In the new year, we have plans for a totally new website redesign, forums, and new features and improvements for ProsePoint. Please come back and have a look from time to time.

Happy Holidays!

Following on from our previous article about customising the ProsePoint default theme, we have customised another generic Drupal theme for ProsePoint. With this article, we're now going to:

  • Release a ProsePoint version of the Drupal theme Newswire, and
  • Provide a case study example about the ProsePoint-specific customisations involved.

Over the last few weeks, we've received questions from interested users about ProsePoint themes, particularly about how ProsePoint themes differs from Drupal themes, and how to customise the default theme that comes with ProsePoint (tma2). After a few ad-hoc replies, we've decided it was time to devote some attention to ProsePoint themeing.

In hindsight, we always knew users would enquire about themes, we knew users will want to change something about their theme. We just didn't expect it to happen yet.

Just a quick message.

The online user guide has just been updated. A number of inaccuracies have been cleared up, so it's reasonably correct for ProsePoint 0.08 (although it's still a work in progress). The section on themeing has been expanded (for those who want to change their theme).

Moving forward, we have plans to customise a couple of Drupal themes for ProsePoint. As much as we think tma2 is a nice looking theme (in our very much biased opinion :) we do acknowledge people may want a different look. So, we'll try to help a bit with that.
