Hi

I created a test text block and placed it in the "Over Sidebar" area. However, instead of appearing above the sidebar, the text lays on top of the sidebar.

To see go to: http://www.localhealthguide.net/news

Thoughts?

Best,

M

Additional info

A bit more peculiar behavior:

The "above sidebar" block does not overlay the sidebar, but truly appears above the sidebars when viewed with Internet Explorer. However, the faint blue background that usually surrounds the page comes in and covers the text ... at just a little over the width of the teaser photos.

With Firefox, the blue background does not encroach on page but the "above sidebar" block does overlay over the sidebars.

When I set the "Above Sidebar" block to <none> ... everything went right again.

Curious.

Best,

M

Text bleeds over when Text Text block ...

The same problem occurs when I put the Test Text block in the left sidebar, the text flows over and overlays the text in the right sidebar.

Best,

M

Hi,

I got a bit lost trying to follow the sequence of behaviours. Do you want to post up a screenshot?

Or/and, would you like to (privately) create me an editor or administrator account so I can go in and have a look? I believe you have my email address, or you can send details to me through the contact page.

I think I found your problem.

The content of your Test Block has extra formatting/html tags, including an extra closing <div>. This will completely mess up the layout of your page.

Try editing your Test Block, and then switch the Visual Editor to HTML mode so you can view (and then get rid of) the extra incorrect cruft.

Here's the screenshot - I made a Text Block and put it in the Above Sidebar. The text just goes over the sidebar.

Yes, the problem is the content of your Test Block. It contains non-visible html tags which are confusing the browser. See my previous post above.

Thanks.

I had pasted it in from ... somewhere.

Fortunately, I'm so ignorant that most of my problems are easily solved.

Best,

M
