channel bg images and page layouts
Hi, first thanks for a very cool and useful product!
Three questions:
1) Where do I change the background header image for each channel? I added some channels and they all have the same image now... not what I want!
2) I'm trying to get my channels to show in multiple columns on the home page the way the demo app looks, but can't figure out how. I saw in the previous post there seemed to be some slick looking column layout choices, but I can't find that anywhere. Do I need to use editions? I'm not using them currently. I can always dig around in the CSS, but would like to try to do things the "right" way first
3) Is there a way to automatically show only the first 5 stories in each channel on the home page? Currently it shows just one channel and lists everything. Adding other channels to other blocks does what I want (shows only the first few stories with a link for more) except they only show the headlines, but I'd like to show the teaser paragraph as well.
Thanks
Thanks for the reply.
I followed the directions on Making your own customisations to the default theme and copied the unzipped folder into ...site/default/themes/tma_custom, but when I browse to the admin // site building // themes management page, I don't see any new subtheme there to choose.
The site/default/themes/ folder did not already exist btw, I had to create it. Is there some other place where I should put this folder instead?
Thanks for the help...
Ah, nevermind, I spoke too soon! It worked fine, I just was looking for the wrong name... I thought it would be named after the revision 2.
Thanks, this solves my problem :)

Hi,
1)
Have a look at Making your own customisations to the default theme on customising the default theme, including examples of changing the header image.
2)
To use Composite Layout for multiple columns, you must be using editions, which also means your channel must be operating in scheduled editions mode.
Visit .../admin/content/channels and check the channel mode for the appropriate channel.
Then, create an edition for that channel, and on that edition's edit page, there should be a fieldgroup Composite layout. Select an option in there, Save, and more options will appear.
3)
There are multiple ways to do this, but this one is perhaps the most straightforward.
Visit .../admin/build/block and configure your channel blocks to appear in the desired region.
If your frontpage is set to a channel operating in scheduled editions mode (via .../admin/content/frontpage), then you can also add blocks to individual editions.
Please give these a try and let me know how you go.
