One of my admin team clicked on the "Flush" button for the ImageCache, and now the gallery thumbnails seem to have disappeared. They are still in the file system (I restored them.) How can I get Drupal to regenerate them?

You shouldn't need to, it's meant to be automatic

The Imagecache module is supposed to regenerate the thumbnails (and other image derivatives) dynamically, so after you flush them, you don't need to do anything else.

Is this affecting the operation of your site? If not, then I'd say it's working as intended.

Flush lost galleries
Yes, it does affect the working of the site. If you visit http://www.viennareview.net, then click on Galleries, you'll find it's mostly empty -- yet click on the empty links, and eventually you get to an image. So this is still an issue for us... Thanks!

Your imagecache presets are partially missing

Looks like some of your imagecache presets settings got lost. For example, if I visit

http://www.viennareview.net/sites/default/files/imagecache/thumbnail/Pan...

and

http://www.viennareview.net/sites/default/files/imagecache/small/Panel%2...

there is a derived image there.

But if I visit

http://www.viennareview.net/sites/default/files/imagecache/square/Panel%...

there is nothing there. The square preset is what the image gallery uses.

Do you want to check these settings on your site?

The preset settings are:

large: Scalewidth: 500, height: , upscale: No

medium: Scalewidth: 300, height: , upscale: No

small: Scalewidth: 150, height: , upscale: No

square: Scale And Crop width: 150, height: 150

thumbnail: Scalewidth: 75, height: , upscale: No

The preset names should all be in lowercase.

square preset was missing
Fixed it with your help, thanks. The square preset was missing -- when I added it back, the images reappeared in the galleries. Some fine-tuning might be required, but it did the job!
