hello everybody; i'm developing a site for a quarterly newspaper and am struggling with the archival functionality in prosepoint.  the paper is configured such that, when opened, the "front page" displayes teasers from the printed front pahe and also lists headlines from other sections (columns, departments, ideas & opinion, reporting & features), which are all set up as separate channels.

what i'd like to achieve is the following:

1) archived "front pages" displaying the main articles (this is working) and blocks that represent the various channels that were published in the same edition as the front page.  right now, when i open up an archived front page the original headlines i selected are displayed properly, but the blocks display the current channels' articles; my problem is that i don't know how to set up blocks to display a specific edition of a channel.  ideally i would just set up a new block each time we publish & have the archive build itself automatically.

2) if possible, a custom view to display archived papers in expanded descending order... what i mean is this:

issue 82
-reporting & features
-ideas & opinions
-columns
-departments

issue 81
-reporting & features
-ideas & opinions
-columns
-departments

issue 80
-reporting & features
-ideas & opinions
-columns
-departments

...etc, were each "issue #" links the the front page and each subcategory links to that archived channel.  i believe this should be able to be done with views, but i am still unfamiliar with this & could use a little guidance.

any help you all could provide would be greaty appreciated!

thanks, marc

Yes, this is a limitation, and I have plans to do something about this, hopefully in the next release hopefully soon.

Views would be the way to do it. Except that editions need to somehow know about 'reporting & features', 'ideas & opinions' etc. At the moment, there are only headlines and other stories.

Hmm... I'm not sure, it's very situationally specific and I'll have to ponder further. Perhaps crosspost this to the Wishlists forum?

hey- thanks for the response;

hey- thanks for the response; also, i appreciate your contribution of prosepoint to the drupal & news communities.  prosepoint has, thus far,  been very effective for my purposes... anyway, i will crosspost this in the wishlist & continue to work on the problem myself as well.

cheers, marc
