Sorry, i had a crazy minute there and I wrote something without thinking.

Basically I am uploading old archieves to a new prose point site to work as a searchable index. When I create a new story I set the date back when the story first ran (2007) but when i search for anything all the results show the date the stories were created in PP not the days the stories were first published (even though i set those as their dates in PP). Is there any way around this? I like how I get the results, but would rather it shows the publication date and not the date it was uploaded to the site.

thank you for any help you can give me.

There are two date values

Hi,

There are two date values for Story nodes. One is Date: which appears above Body: on the edit page. The other is the Authored on: value available when you expand the Authoring information fieldset at the bottom of the edit page.

My guess is your search results are showing the Authored on: value.

You could try changing this value for all your affected stories so Authored on: matches Date:.

Or does that not really help?

I changed the Authored on:

I changed the Authored on: value on the page to reflect the right date, however in the searches it now shows the revision date and time.

So it must be showing the revised date in the search. I will keep looking, but if you have any suggestions, please fire away.

Did you reindex the site?

Did you ask your site to re-index content (via .../admin/settings/search)?

I did, through poormans cron.

I did, through poormans cron. They are all indexed.

Is there any way for the search to search more than just the body text of the article? Can the search function search dates, or authors?

Or can i set the default search so that whatever is searched is default seached by type%3Astory ?

If I remember correctly, I

If I remember correctly, I think the default search already covers those (and other) fields, but I'm not absolutely certain. If you find a situation when the search isn't doing this, let me know and I'll investigate.

I'm not sure what you mean by your second question. Do you mean you only want search to cover Story nodes?
