Hi!

This is a raw idea:  Would it be possible to make use of the base code for Editions to create photos Albums?

Albums would use composite layout, node reference (image and media) and channels exactly as Editions does.

And then, as we have images as nodes and albums as nodes, why not use views slideshow for presentation?

The prosepoint img insert would make use of channels and albums for selection (and dates!). Photos and images would be better organized.

The last thing to add would be a upload page for multiples images nodes, like the album photos module upload page (see there demo page... but that module has only albums as nodes).

The idea of a better gallery for Pp bugged me all day. My users need some kind of gallery for there events (the site I'm upgrading to Pp has ~150events-albums, about ~2000pictures and few media). I looked at many modules, but none seemed to integrate in Pp. I would like all those images to be "teaserable" in editions. I can use imagefield import for multiple import of old picture content in the ifimage content-type. But then, will the navigation in the img insert selectior be easy? And the users wanting to upload multiple photographs on a event...

What do you think?

Thx

I will help.

And since I need this, or something similar, If you think it's a good idea, I will help you whit the coding if you point me in the wright direction. I did look into your code, I think that I can help and that it is acheivable.

Do you think it could be done in a resonable time?

Thx.

Hi,

Is this idea for something that you use just on your own site? Or will it be part of ProsePoint (and is created as part of installation)?

If it is for your own site, you can do most of what you want using CCK and Views - just create your own Album content type and configure it in a similar way to Editions.

If it is for standard ProsePoint, then there is a bit more work involved in adding Albums to the installation process. Still, it may be a good idea to develop it for your own site first, and then use that as a 'reference design' for adding into ProsePoint.

After you have set up albums with CCK and Views, we need to break down the remaining functionality into individual parts and see how to facilitate them with ProsePoint.

So, yes, you are very welcome to try this. At a minimum, you have albums working on your site. If all things go well, we can add it into standard ProsePoint. If you have any questions, please ask.

I'll do that.

Thx.
