Images and Channels + Taxonomy

I noticed somebody here asked already to have images linked to channels. I think it would be quite useful to manage galleries to have images linked to channels / taxonomy -
Also there are 2 options for uploading images 1) Upload from your computer 2) Browse for an image - I personally cannot use options 2 since I have 400 pages of images and to go down the list is time consuming. An image serach box would be helpful here -

Yes It would be quite nice to have this features added. Unfortunately my technical skills are not up to the task but maybe i could give a small monetary contribution to the task since I have no other idea on how I could collaborate.
I am in the process of adding 2000 more images to the site and having taxonomy work will be real helpful

Yes, it would be great to have image and other media linked to channels (and maybe other vocabulairies, e.g. for an image two vocabularies: channel(this-city) and another-taxo(image-gallery or this-subject)). It would help the browsing for an image to insert in content (like you, I have a lot of images - browsing by date added would be great as well) and for the galleries.
It is possible to add ourselves a field_channel to the ifimage content-type and some taxonomy selectors to the images_list view to help select a image to insert in the content. In that same way, we could create a new view for galleries with taxonomy selectors (or albums, http://www.prosepoint.org/node/320)... I'll try it, but I do worry about futur upgades that would break those settings (in particular, the chages made to the images_list view).

It's probably a futur feature. I would be glad to help adding this feature to the project. I did look a bit into it (prosepoint.content.inc, ifimage.type, pp_image.module, pp_ig.module, etc.) but I would need some directions.
I'll try the above whitout touching the code.
