Hello,

I want to change the term used for unregistered users writing comments. By default this is "anonymous", which the German translation refers to as "Anonym". Where can I change this to "guest" (German "Gast"). I tried to find this in the translation search - without any success so far. I guess the term is hard coded in some file. Can someone help?

Thanks and best regards

Hi,

Ah, yes.

Visit .../admin/settings/site-information on your site and look at the Anonymous user field at the bottom of the page.

I'm not sure if this value is translatable though.

Hi beng,

Thanks for this. Sometimes solutions are simply too easy to find ;)

Can I change all existing anonymous comments from "anonymous" to "guest" without working in the database itself?

Cheers

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by 'without working in the database itself'?

What I meant was: Is there

What I meant was: Is there anything like a search and replace tool?

If you mean

If you mean search-and-replace within the text content of comments, I'm not aware of one.

If you really need something like this, I could write up a php script to do it. Or a mysql query may also do it.
