Would like to see easier way to create custom Composite Layout

In the course of designing a new website in ProsePoint for a small daily newspaper, I've reached the point where I'd like to be able to set up a 50-25-25 composite layout.

Granted, I could use CSS to reformat an existing layout, such as 25-50-25 or 33-33-33 ... but what if I then want to use one of those layouts later? That means more CSS to define when I want to use the default for the layout and when I don't. Aargh.

I've been researching Composite Layout, and I saw a posting on the Drupal site about how to create a custom layout ... but all the coding is a bit beyond me. It would be nice if there were some way of being able to create a new custom layout that would work for those of us who are not coders or programmers!

Hi,

A 50-25-25 layout might be worth considering adding sometime in the future, but I have no plans to do so anytime soon.

Unfortunately, adding layouts is quite complex, and I don't see any way to accomplish it without coding of some sort. Sorry.

Along the same lines...

I'd like to see (if it is possible) some composite layouts that come pre-populated. That is, you select a composite layout and the nodes are already there, all you need to create are the articles. This would go a long way toward making ProsePoint quickly usable. Or, fail that, someone offer a ProsePoint theme with the same out-of-the-box composite layout features.
