Has anyone used ProsePoint long enough to publish a site with *lots* of content? That is, are there sites with hundreds (or even thousands) of articles and images published?

I've been playing with ProsePoint for a couple weeks and really like it. Still, before I jump off the cliff and populating a live site, I'd like to know how big a production environment has been tried. Many of the sites I find on the ProsePoint Sites forum seem rather modest in the scope of their content.

You could try reading about scaling up Drupal.

Hi,

I've come across a couple of sites with 'thousands' of nodes and they're working fine. However, this doesn't answer your question as scalability is a complex issue.

You could try starting from http://drupal.org/node/326504 (or Google) and reading about scaling up Drupal. Anything that applies to Drupal is very likely to also apply to ProsePoint.

Thanks
That's good feedback. I infer that ProsePoint doesn't impact the scalability meaningfully. I'll continue my research. Thx!

Please let us know

Please let us know what your research finds. I operate a daily news site with hundreds of stories published online each week. I'd like to know whether ProsePoint (which I'm testing on a development site) is robust enough to compete with my present CMS, Joomla.

My website has about 1500

My website has about 1500 articles between news stories and general articles - It does not seem to be a problem at all -  I think I am around node 15,000 at this time ( PP stores images in nodes ) -

Content Management

Thanks, Paolo. I appreciate your insight. Mind if I ask you a couple follow-up questions?

How hard is it for you to manage all the images? I upgraded to 0.31 today and had to recopy all the JPGs into \sites\default\files. This is an easy task for a small, prototype site, but it could get gruesome with 15,000 images!

How do you manage your stories? When I list my content, they're all in one, long linear list. How do you find or stort stories from a year ago? Do you use a plug-in to assist with story organization?

Many thanks!

P.S. Very nice site, Paolo!

I did not update to 0.31 yet

I did not update to 0.31 yet .

Managing pictures is not that simple but I normally do not have to do much - I asked for a better search when upload new images in this post

http://www.prosepoint.org/node/526

All my stories are online ( except for about 200 that should go online soon anyway ) - It is easy for me to find them just following the website structure. I have no plug in but all my story are divided with taxonomy so it is easier to find them.

Prosepoint as a CMS

Hi Paolo,

Just read your old forum post regarding the size of your database and manging it.

Are you using any sort of theme software? If so, what is working for you?

Thanks,

Skip Phairas

PS - see my recent post about just using Prosepoint as a true content data archive.
