Hi guys!

I don't know if this has been discussed before... I did research but couldn't find the solution to my problem. I am trying to upload an image from another web site. When I upload everything seems to be fine in the prosepoint editor, but when I go to save, it doesn't show up in the post at all! What shall I do next?

Also when I actually attach images to a post from my desktop, it would only stay on the right side of the post. Do "attached images" not float?

I apprecriate all of your help in advance! I really like Prosepoint! Great idea!

Thanks!

One more thing, I see that in

One more thing, I see that in another post, Beng suggested to use <pp_img> in the html, which I did, but it's still not working.

Thanks!

Hi,

> I am trying to upload an image from another web site.

Can you please clarify this? Do you mean you want to show an image from another website? Or you want to download an image from another website and then upload it to your own ProsePoint site?

If you insert an image file uploaded from your own computer (via the image insert button on the Visual editor), does that work?

images won't show

Hi Beng!

2 things I want to achieve. I want to show an image from another web site, so I copied the link and pasted it into "show an image from another website" and inserted the image the post. The pictured showed up fine in the visual, but when I saved the image, it wouldn't show up in the post at all.

I also want to upload a picture from my desktop. I uploaded the image, but it would only stay to the right side of the post. I couldn't make it float to the left of center.

Thanks!

Hi,

> The pictured showed up fine in the visual,

I'm presuming you mean the picture showed up in the visual editor, as opposed to the image insert pop-up window?

When the picture is showing in the visual editor, and if you then switch your editor to html mode, do you see a <pp_img> tag (representing the image)?

Also, what browser are you using? I don't suppose you can try doing this with Firefox and see if that affects anything?

> but when I saved the image, it wouldn't show up in the post at all.

Can I possibly get you to look at the page source (ie. the html source) and see if there is a <img> tag generated at all?

In the pop-up window when you do the insert, there should be a alignment option that allows you to select left, or right, or center or whatever.

Correct

Yes, I inserted the ">" to <pp>_img> myself

Also, what browser are you using? I don't suppose you can try doing this with Firefox and see if that affects anything?

I am using Firefox.

Yes, this is what shows up in the html page.

<br />
<pp_img> type="url" align="left" src="http://images.us.viewbook.com/efd80273fe0dc2bf42b70450679ae636_small.jpg" width="320" height="229"> </pp_img><br />
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>

When I save the post, this is what shows:

type="url" align="left" src="http://images.us.viewbook.com/efd80273fe0dc2bf42b70450679ae636_small.jpg" width="320" height="229">

A seperate question in uploading images in general. Something seems different. When I go to "browse" a new image, it will make me choose from an image gallery, and it says "any" and "apply". Am I supposed to have an image gallery on the site already and then I choose from the different images?

Thanks!

Hi,

Ah...

Did you type the <pp_img> tag in yourself? Or use the image insert popup window to inject it?

The tag is supposed to look like this:

<pp_img type="url" align="left" src="http://images.us.viewbook.com/efd80273fe0dc2bf42b70450679ae636_small.jpg" width="320" height="229"> </pp_img>

ie. there is no ">" immediately after the opening pp_img tag. And there has to a space between the opening and closing tags (otherwise the Visual editor thinks it's an empty tag and throws it away).

I'm a bit perplexed about how this malformed tag ended up in your content, because the image insert pop-up should insert the tags correctly.

> Am I supposed to have an image gallery on the site already and then I choose from the different images?

If you upload image files from your computer to the site, image nodes are created for you and they can be optionally placed in a gallery (if any are created, see .../admin/content/image_gallery on your site). When you choose from existing images, you can also filter the choices of images by gallery (again, if a gallery exists).

HTML and source code

Yes, I only typed the ">" in myself. I must've misunderstood another post that was written that had a similar question as mine. I tried it both ways. Adding the symbol, ">" in and leaving it out. Without the extra symbol, nothing showed up at all.

This is how it looks in the HTML without me interfering with the source code.

<pp_img type="url" align="left" src="http://images.us.viewbook.com/efd80273fe0dc2bf42b70450679ae636_small.jpg" width="320" height="229"> </pp_img>

Hi,

You say you see the image in the Visual Editor, but not after you click Save, yes?

Something for you to look at:

Edit the node, then under the Editor, click on Input format. In the available options (ie. Filtered HTML or Full HTML), do you see the sentence:

"Insert images and media with <pp_img> or <pp_media>."

appear? On a normal site, it should appear. If not, then the image insert filter has configured to be disabled somehow.

I went to mysite.com/admin/settings/filters/2 and clicked on prosepoint image and media insertion and click saved and VOILA! It worked!

Thanks so much Beng!

one more question about image uploads

Ok, one more thing...

When I try to upload the image from my desktop via "Image attach or "image upload" below the visual editor, it'll attach or upload, but when I clicked saved, nothing showed. I've checked my configurations and everything seemed to be configured. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

I also noticed that when I upload the image, it will act as a separate post, but it won't appear in the post I assigned it to.

I really do appreciate your patience and all your help Beng:-)
