I intalled ProsePoint 0.16, with the Chinese language pack with multilingual menu enabled. My problem is the translation from English to another langauge does not appear to show accordingly after the clicking another language in the Language Switch ( to me, the simplified Chinese), with the following case:

Condtion:

1. Chinese languague pack and multilingual language packs were installed; English is set as the default language

2. Multilingual Language Menu was enabled ( as Primary Link)

3. A test for the switch between a Story and its Chinese translation was Ok.

4. Test shows Lanaguge switching, between the orignal English story and the (Chinese) translation (from mydomain/mystory to mydomain/my-language/mystory) was ok.

Problems:

1 The the language switching between English and Chinese Edtions at the front page of a channel (at the location of channal/all) was not Ok,

2. Nor between channel/all/stories and mylanguage/channel/all/stories

When I put an English Edition  with say, /edtion/mytopic/1 into a Channel by name of My Topic ( with a Menu title of My Topic) at location of say, mydomain.com/mytopic it seemed to be ok with the English version ,   But when I click a second language on the Language Switch, I still got the English Edtion but the link showing i am reading zh-hans/mytopic. But this time, what I expect to see is the content of /zh-hans/edition/mytopic/1, not the original Egnlish edition (the zh-hans/topic/1). So the inconsistancy appears: we can read English version of the content as expected , but not its respective translation(s) in other language(s) at the front page of a Channel, when lanugage swiches over (by click the Language Switch).

I posted the same story into channel/mychannel-number/stories, and then click the Language Swich the simliar also happened

Any idea on how to improve?

Daniel

Hi, This is my understanding

Hi,

This is my understanding of what you have wrote:

You are viewing a channel on a site set up for both English and Chinese. When you click on the Language Switcher (or whatever it's called), the content displayed in the channel doesn't change from English to Chinese.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything that can be done at the moment. Channel's are not multilingual in ProsePoint. Trying to make them multilingual would not be simple.

If you absolutely need this feature, please post a new feature request in the Wishlists forum so that we can consider it for future functionality.

thankyou

Thankyou Beng, for the clarification,

It saves my time to try this and then try that if the software application itself does not have the functionalities.

I will post the Feature Request ino the Wishlists shortly
